About Rodeo
Rodeo is a competitive western sport featuring events rooted in cattle ranching traditions, including saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, and barrel racing. Professional rodeo draws millions of fans annually.
Professional rodeo is governed by the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) for men's events and the WPRA (Women's Professional Rodeo Association) primarily for barrel racing. The National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas is the sport's premier championship, featuring the top 15 contestants in each event competing for world titles. College rodeo (CNFR) and high school rodeo (NHSRA) provide pathways for young athletes. Events are scored on time (timed events) or points (roughstock events judging both rider and animal).
Rodeo riders can find roping saddles, ropes and rodeo gear on TurnoutHQ, or make use of TurnoutHQ community groups.
