About Mustangs
Mustang competitions highlight the trainability and versatility of America's wild horses through training challenges, trail, and performance classes. Events like the Mustang Heritage Foundation's programs connect wild horse adoption with competitive showing.
The Extreme Mustang Makeover is the flagship event, where trainers have 100 days to gentle and train a wild mustang from a BLM holding facility, then compete in trail, reining, freestyle, and other performance classes. The Mustang Heritage Foundation partners with the Bureau of Land Management to promote adoption. Mustangs also compete in breed-specific shows through the American Mustang and Burro Association (AMBA) and in open competitions across many disciplines.
Mustangs riders can find starting equipment on TurnoutHQ, or make use of TurnoutHQ community groups.
