About Donkey & Mule
Donkey and mule competitions celebrate these versatile and intelligent equines across disciplines including halter, driving, trail, pleasure, and performance classes. Shows highlight the unique characteristics and working heritage of mules and donkeys.
Mule and donkey shows feature halter classes judging conformation and breed type, pleasure driving, trail and obstacle courses, western and English performance classes, and specialty events like coon jumping (high jump) that showcase the mule's legendary athleticism. The ADMS (American Donkey and Mule Society) is the primary registry, while organizations like the North American Saddle Mule Association (NASMA) promote riding competition. Mule Days in Bishop, California is the premier national event.
Donkey & Mule riders can find pack saddles on TurnoutHQ, or make use of discussion groups for your discipline.
